Conflict, Anxiety, and Collaboration

Have you noticed how much conflict there seems to be in the world today? Nation vs Nation. Race vs Race. State vs State. Liberals vs Populists. Person vs. Person.

Are you feeling it?

Never has it been more important to know how to work through conflict, to find connection, and to move toward solution. That's why I am offering 6 scholarships to the MindShifting: Conflict and Collaboration course that starts February 25.

I don't want cost to get in the way of anyone who wants to reduce the stress that conflicts are having in their lives.

In MindShifting: Conflict and Collaboration, we develop an understanding of why the most common methods we use to influence others don’t really work, and we will learn and practice the techniques that do. The course covers

  • how the mind makes sense of situations
  • alternative methods of problem solving
  • preparing to learn from results that might not be what we want
  • what happens in the brain when people disagree with us and what we can do
  • how to resolve conflicts and influence others
  • foundations of wellbeing
  • navigating the murky worlds of stress, trauma, cognitive bias, and collective illusions
  • applying Mindshifting to whole brain coaching and teaching.

The course consists of 6 two-hour live sessions over Zoom at 4:00PM Pacific Time/ 7:00PM Eastern time on Feb 25, 27, Mar 4, 6. 11. and 18.

I write about mindsets, Mindshifting, learning, and education, with the hope that these posts give readers more power over their own lives and helps them give others, like their students, more power as well.

Learning releases jolts of dopamine and endorfins, just like having fun does. Here are my seven shots on Sunday. Experience 1: my B team tennis doubles team match was scheduled for 1:30. On the way over, it started to rain a little. Arrived at the court just as I received the text message, match canceled. Experience 2: as we are all talking the rain lets up. The pro announces the matches are back on. I let on that I’m not comfortable if the lines are wet and slippery, but the pro assures me...
